Impact of weather on the farm output is direct. Favorable weather not only gives the good produce but also helps the farmers saving money by using agri-inputs at the right time. The PCSRA enables the farmers to get the information about the weather in advance and crop advisories that are based on the actual crop situation and conditions.

Sometimes, even if the farmers produces the good crop, the unusual patterns in weather causes huge losses to the harvested crop, PCSRA helps the farmers to get the post-harvest crop management advisories as well.

Kapadiya Dinesh Bhai of Junagarh district in Gujarat shares his experience about the services he is getting through the PCSRA and how they are helping in making him more productive. He said he had grown Groundnut crop and upon maturity he harvested the crop, however the crop was not placed in the safe place. He received SMS from Skymet indicating that it might rain and farmers should immediately place the harvested crop in the safe places to protect them from moisture. He did the same and as per the weather forecast it rained next day. He said the SMS saved him from a huge loss.

He says the weather information and crop advisories are very effective and helping the farmers to be protected from all such incidences. He gives the irrigation as per the crop advisories he receives, this not only saves his cost on irrigation but also saves the crop from the water logging and similar situations.
