Out of four core objectives of PCSRA, providing ICT-based location specific crop advisory and farming practices package across 31 districts in 9 states of India was one of the objective. Skymet has a dedicated team of 8 crop experts who develop region-specific crop advisories for registered farmers, so that the latter can be more productive.
Crop advisories are circulated in 6 regional languages twice a week i.e. Tuesday and Friday. Skymet also delivers crop advisories to minimize risks associated with extreme weather events like cyclone or flashflood to minimize losses associated with inclement weather.

Channels of Delivery
SMS: As most of the registered farmers have feature mobile phone so the crop advisories are sent via the SMS to the mobile numbers of the registered farmers.
SkyMitra App: Crop advsories are delivered through the SkyMitra App in the regional language.
WhatsApp Groups: Each of the 31 target districts in the 9 states has dedicated WhatsApp group, on which farmers can get themselves added by intimating area in charge or cluster head and get the notification about the advisories which are periodically posted by the team in Head Office.
